Dear Friends,

          I am getting more and more excited about the the new office. Construction progressed along nicely and today (10/3/11) we will open the doors for business officially! If you're in the neighborhood in the month of October, please drop by to say hi. My plans for future issues of the newsletter are to discuss health topics that may pertain to you and your family. But for this issue, I want to update you on significant new information about Paris Family Physicians and the staff that will be serving you. I also want to go over some of the features of the practice and how we are different from other practices.

          I am honored to have two wonderful people join my staff. Both of these individuals have worked with me for more than 10 years, so I know them, their work habits, their attitudes, and their personalities very well. Most of you will be familiar with them, too.

          Wendy Martin has worked with me at Bluegrass Medical Clinic for almost 12 years and has served as my nurse for the last decade or so. She has decided to follow me to Paris Family Physicians to continue to serve as my nurse. Wendy is diligent, efficient, conscientious and professional and will continue to be a great asset to me and my patients.

          Pam Clines has worked with me as a receptionist at Bluegrass Medical Clinic for the entire 12 years that I have worked there. Pam has extensive experience in customer service as well as the complicated world of medical billing. Pam is the first voice you will usually hear when you call our office and I know you will always be greeted with good cheer.

          Both Wendy and Pam are committed to making your experience at Paris Family Physicians a good one. I feel blessed to have two hard-working, kind-hearted people decide to join me on this new endeavor and I'm confident that they will help to make Paris Family Physicians a great success.           I have had a surprisingly large number of people utilize the features of my website even though it's only been up and running for a short time. I am very happy about that as I intended the website to be a resource for patients as well as another method for the efficient exchange of information. For those patients interested in the Patient Portal, it is still "turned off". I am working with my computer experts and I hope to have the Portal fully functioning soon. I will send word out as soon as it is available. For those of you unfamiliar with the Patient Portal, it is a voluntary service which allows you to view lab results, send non-emergent email questions, request refills on medications, and schedule appointments over a secure Internet connection available to you 24-hours/day.           If you have decided to follow me to the new office and haven't already done so, please fill out a medical record release form. Federal law prohibits me from taking any medical records with me unless I have specific permission from each individual patient. You may download the form on the "Forms" page of my website or drop by the new office. Pam will have copies up front as well. In case you aren't familiar with the location of the new office, it is on the other side of the parking lot from my previous office. If you have any trouble finding us, please don't hesitate to call 987-3577. Also, after hours calls will be handled a little differently than you are used to. I will be covering myself, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. If you have an urgent question after hours, please call the office number (987-3577) and listen to the entire message as it will direct you how to get in touch with me.
